2010 | Cammeraygal Country | Castle Cove
Located on a steeply sloping site overlooking Middle Harbour, the original 1960s house was made up of two large pavilions linked by a long corridor. The brief was to transform this sprawling outdated house into a contemporary family residence that would act as a peaceful retreat. Small courtyards were inserted throughout the house, allowing a seamless transition between inside and outside, as well as existing and new spaces. The house achieves a close relationship with its context and expresses honesty through its materials.
